FAQ

Who designs your furniture?

We do! All furniture is designed by Jarrett & Eryn unless it is a collaboration project in which we share design credits with our collaborator. We are inspired by midcentury modern, scandinavian and japanese furniture builders & designers. We love reading Dwell magazine and following other furniture makers for inspiration. Please follow us on social media to see our latest inspirations.

What do you build your furniture with?

Most of our furniture is built out of solid wood to improve durability and longevity of our products. We hope that our pieces are the kinds of furniture you pass on to family as heirlooms and they are built to stand the test of time. We primarily use North American tree species such as Maple, Walnut, Cherry, White Oak, and Cedar to build our furniture due to both aesthetics & sustainability.

What is your educational background?

Neither of us has formally trained in furniture design or furniture-specific woodworking (or business for that matter). We are eager and curious people who spend every single day of our lives educating ourselves on new joinery techniques, social media strategy, sauna building or anything we would possibly need or want to know to run our business. Level up!

Jarrett has his carpentry red seal/ journeyperson carpentry certificate from Saskatchewan Polytechnique and has been working in some form of carpentry (framing, commercial, residential, renovations, etc.) since 2005.

Eryn has her Bachelor of Science Honours in Land Use & Environmental Studies from the University of Saskatchewan. She formerly worked in conservation science as a resource management technician. Additionally, Eryn has a diploma in interior design from an internationally recognized online program.

Do you work with other designers?

We love working with interior designers to fulfill their clients dreams. Designers: please send us an email at jmancarpentry@gmail.com to discuss partnerships.

What is your lead time on projects?

It varies due to our schedule - our most up to date estimation is located on our contact page. Most of our furniture is made to order due to our small shop size and so please see the description of each piece of furniture for an estimation of build time & delivery. Please reach out via our contact form to discuss expediting a custom project.

Where can I see your furniture in person?
